Andrea has worked exclusively in family law for more than 16 years.

Andrea graduated from Macquarie University in Sydney with a combined Arts/Laws degree. She also has a Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law, has completed a Master of Laws in Applied Family Law and is an Accredited Specialist in Family Law.

Andrea has practised family law in Canberra and Sydney and is admitted as a Solicitor to the NSW Supreme Court, High Court of Australia and the ACT Supreme Court. During her time as a Solicitor, Andrea has worked in specialist family law firms both in Sydney and Canberra. She is also a qualified Independent Child’s Lawyer.

Andrea has extensive experience appearing as a Solicitor Advocate in the Family Court, Federal Magistrates Court and the ACT and NSW Courts. She is also trained in Collaborative Law and can explore non-litigation alternatives with clients in resolving their family law disputes.

Andrew Evans

Business Manager

Andrew joined Evans Family Lawyers in 2010 as Business Manager having previously worked in a variety of different management roles in the IT and Printing industries. Andrew is a licensed conveyancer in NSW and also has experience with conveyancing in the ACT.

Haney Cho

Paralegal

Haney is currently a fourth year undergraduate Arts/Law student at the Australian National University (ANU) and is hoping to complete her studies in 2014. She has enjoyed work experience and internship opportunities at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Australian Parliament House and looks forward to a future career in Family Law.

Sarah-Jane Henry AssocDegLaw (Paralegal)

Paralegal

Sarah-Jane joined Evans Family lawyers in early February 2012 having returned from 6 months working for a property legal firm in Belfast, Northern Ireland where she prepared contracts for sale, organised settlements as well as managed files for probate.
Her previous experience includes time spent with both property and family law firms where she enjoyed liaising with clients to ensure an excellent standard of client service.
She is currently completing her LLB by correspondence with Southern Cross University and is looking forward to completing her studies in the near future.
Sarah-Jane is the Senior Conveyancing Paralegal at Evan Family Lawyers and has extensive experience in all aspects of the Conveyancing process in both the ACT and NSW.

Lucy Smith

Legal Secretary

Lucy spent eight years working within the Intellectual Property law profession as a Legal Secretary after completing her HSC. In 2013 she moved from Sydney and has taken on a whole new role at Evans Family Lawyers. Lucy plans on studying a Law Degree in the near future.

During the consultation we discuss your individual circumstances and give you a comprehensive outline of your legal options. This includes an upfront estimate of the costs and likely time frame to resolve your matter.

Our standard fees and charges

INITIAL APPOINTMENT

New clients receive an initial hour long appointment. Our hourly rates are as follows.

HOURLY RATES (INC. GST)

  • Director – $440.00
  • Solicitor – $400.00
  • Legal Secretary/Paralegal – $250.00

APPLICATION FOR DIVORCE

The following fees are standard for straightforward divorces only. Disbursements include the filing fee and serving fees. In the event that your application is defended, the fees will exceed those outlined and further work will be charged at our hourly rate. In this case, we will provide you with an estimate of fees.

  • Divorce (no children under 18) – $990.00 including GST plus disbursements
  • Divorce (children under 18) – $1,100.00 including GST plus disbursements
  • Divorce (separation under one roof or substituted/dispensing with service) – $1,100.00 including GST plus disbursements
